The total number of borrowers surged 162% year-over-year, from 285 957 to 750 262 over the last 24 months.
The sharp increase can be attributed to:
- New users entering the DeFi market on Base
- Massive growth in users on Optimism (+268%)
- Significant growth on Arbitrum (+185%)
- New users entering through Moonwell and Morpho.
- Aave V3, the most popular lending protocol, still grew by 141%.
